THE PERFECT MOMENT

“The Perfect Moment" was the title of Robert Mapplethorpe's final exhibition as he was facing death. In Washington D.C. ,September 1989, the public received his work as promoting homosexuality, which led to protests against the works and the government shut down the exhibition. Shojaian chose Mapplethorpe's photograph "Two Dancers" to be the foundation of his work, including Khansa, a Lebanese dancer and performance artist.
